Day 1. Cusco – Capuliyoc – Marampata

Your accommodation in Cusco will be picked up by us. We’ll then drive to Capuliyoc, a little village in the region. This is where the Choquequirao Trek begins. We’ll meet the porters, muleteers, and chef here.

While you have a traditional Andean breakfast, we will organize your belongings and camping gear so that we can start the trip early.

We’ll start the climb after breakfast with a twenty-minute uphill hike to a viewpoint. We’ll be hiking along the Apurimac River’s course. You will be welcomed with an enchanting view of the valley once you arrive at the view point.

Then we’ll begin our descent to Chiquisqa. We’ll be hiking through many plantations on our way down. The majority of them are utilized for therapeutic purposes. Our guide will to go over these in incredible detail . We’ll take a break for lunch at Chiquisqa.

We’ll descend for another 45 minutes after lunch to Playa Rosalinas. This is the border between the provinces of Apurimac and Cusco. Rosalina’s Bridge is a wooden bridge that we shall cross here.

Then we’ll walk up the hill to Marampata. It is situated at a height of 3500 meters above sea level. We’ll be camping at Marampata for the night.

Day 2. Marampata – Choquequirao

A nice cup of Peruvian coffee or tea will be served to you. We’ll hike to the Choquequirao archaeological complex after breakfast. A guided tour of the facility will be provided by our local expert.

The main plaza, ceremonial centers, farming terraces, and other sites will be visited. We’ll return to the campsite for lunch when you’ve had your enough of this attraction.

Later in the evening, you will be able to return to the complex to watch the sunset.

Dinner will be served after that.

Day 3. Choquequirao – Marampata – Santa Rosa – Chiquiska

After breakfast, we will depart from the campsite very early. We’ll be hiking for a total of 10 hours to reach our Chiquiska campground. You will be able to view the flight of the Andean condors as we travel.

We’ll be travelling via several outlying towns. We’ll be stopping at Playa Rosalinas for lunch. After that, we’ll head to Chiquiska campground, where we’ll retire after a delectable traditional dinner.

Day 4. Chiquiska – Cachora – Cusco

After a regular breakfast, we will begin our walk. This will be a three hours hike up the hill to Cachora. We’ll take a break here for lunch.

We’ll say our goodbyes to our porters, horsemen, and cook after lunch. After that, we’ll drive back to Cusco for three hours.

On the way back, we can stop by the Conoc hot springs as an option.

  • Water bottle with 1-2 liters of water.
  • Light backpack.
  • Snacks (everything is more expensive in Aguas Calientes!).
  • Padlock for a locker in the hostel.
  • Flashlight if you plan to walk up to MP early in the morning.
  • Towel.
